This weeks must know prospect goes to the Bakersfield Blaze 1B Kyle Petty. Petty was recently promoted to Double A Jackson and was having a monster year in Single A Bakersfield. Petty was batting .327 with 10 home runs and 40 Runs Batted In before being called up. Petty also made news being named the Adv. A home run derby champion. .....

The next stop on a tour brings us to the rural city of Bakersfield, California, home of the Bakersfield Blaze. The Bakersfield Blaze are currently a minor league affiliate to the Seattle Mariners and have been since the beginning of the 2015 season. Although the partnership with the Seattle Mariners is still very young the Bakersfield Baseball Organization has been around since 1941, making it one of the oldest baseball organizations in California. The Bakersfield Blaze has been home to many professional clubs like the Dodgers, Reds, Rays, Rangers, and Tigers amongst others. Although they have been affiliated with so many teams Bakersfield is know more for the ball park they play in which is Sam Lynn Ballpark.

This weeks must know prospect goes to the Seattle Mariners young Short Stop Drew Jackson, Jackson is currently playing for the Bakersfield Blaze and has a high celling to be a top 10 short stop in the majors. Every week a different player from around the minor leagues will be featured in an article called Must Know Prospects , we will break down these players strength, weaknesses and big league comparisons. This week Must Know Prospects will the Fresno Grizzlies 1B slugger A.J Reed. Third Stop of the tour is beautiful Petco Park home of the San Diego Padres. The San Diego Padres have been a part of Major League Baseball since 1969. During this year major league baseball added three other teams as a part of an expansion process for baseball. Besides the Padres, Major League Baseball also added the Kansas City Royals and Seattle Pilots who are now known as the Milwaukee Brewers and the Montreal Expos, who later became the Washington Nationals.
The next stop on our tour is Chukchansi Park, which is home to the Fresno Grizzlies. Chukchansi Park is located in the heart of Fresno, California and was built in 2002. Currently the Fresno Grizzlies are the Triple - A affiliate of the Houston Astros and were formally known as the San Francisco Giants Triple - A affiliate from “1998- 2014.” Before the park was named Chukchansi Park it was known as Grizzlies Stadium. The name change did not occur until 2006 when the city of Fresno partnered up with the Chukchansi Casinos and Resorts to remold and name the ballpark. Currently, this stadium sits 12,500 fans and has over 30 diamond club level suites available for purchase. The Fresno Grizzlies our currently sharing the stadium with their soccer counterparts the Fresno Fuego Futbol Club.................
